J HOUSE | Floorspace: 350 m2  |  Location: Madrid  |  Year: 2015  |  Photography: Pedro Pegenaute

This property is a detached house located in the first residential developments of La Finca in Pozuelo de Alarcón. Its interior architectural structure used to be very sectioned and closed off towards the garden and natural light. We wanted to free up the spaces by communicating them with each other while opening up the house to the garden. This entailed an overhaul of the facade, opening it out as much as possible and providing large windows that gradually give light to the living room, dining room and kitchen.

With this starting point, we designed a contemporary house with an open-plan layout to take full advantage of the natural sunlight. All spaces look outwards but at the same time have longitudinal separations that allow each one to maintain a certain degree of intimacy, while also being permeable with the adjoining room.
