STAND ILMIODESIGN INTERIHOTEL | Location: Barcelona |  Year: 2018 | Photography: Guillermo Ortega

We plumped for a retro aesthetic, inspired by the 1970s and Verner Panton designs, with bright and warm colours such as red and orange. And also lots of geometric patterns, which were very popular in Italy in the 70s in Kartell's designs from that decade. We took inspiration from the tones of Miami clubs and mid-century American motels with carpets, designer pieces and strident colours such as orange and turquoise. For the structures, both the headboard and other elements were inspired by pavement designs, very geometric and full of arched drawings. We wanted the perfect hotel room, yet always stunning and instantly Instagrammable. That's why we created a room where everything flows, but in which the main space - the bed - has a privileged and perfectly framed place for social media posts.
